Hydraulic torque wrenches have revolutionized the process of tightening and loosening medium to large bolts and nuts,
providing efficiency and precision in various industrial applications. However, despite their advantages,
users often encounter issues during operation. In this article,
we will discuss the common problems faced during Hydraulic Torque Wrench usage and how to address them, ensuring safe and effective performance.
Before using the hydraulic Torque Wrench, it is crucial to perform the following checks to avoid any malfunctions during operation:
Voltage and Cable Inspection: Ensure the electric oil pump’s operating voltage meets 220V, and verify that the cable wire size is adequate (at least 4mm²).
High-Pressure Hose Condition: Inspect the high-pressure hose for any signs of bending or damage. Additionally, check the cleanliness of the hydraulic socket and plug.
Oil Level Check: Make sure the oil level in the hydraulic pump is above the minimum line and that the oil is clear and transparent.
Use of Proper hydraulic oil: Only use the designated hydraulic oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not mix with other types of oils to avoid performance degradation.
Stuck Wrench: If the hydraulic wrench becomes stuck and cannot be removed,
press the button continuously and rotate the tool to quickly release the automatic cutting mechanism.
Once released, you can remove the wrench.
Reset Button: If the wrench has a reset button, press it before activating the hydraulic pump to ensure correct initialization.
Squealing Noise: During initial operation, a squealing noise may occur. This is due to air trapped inside the system.
To resolve this, lower the pressure to the minimum setting and allow the pump to cycle until all air is expelled from the hydraulic wrench.
Operating Temperature: For optimal performance, ensure that the working environment temperature remains between 10°C and 70°C.
By following these essential pre-operation checks and troubleshooting tips,
users can ensure the hydraulic torque wrench operates efficiently and effectively,
minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Regular maintenance and adherence to the manufacturer’s guidelines are key to maintaining the longevity and reliability of the Hydraulic System.
